Recent Events 2019 - 2020

Installation & Holiday Banquet was a great success!  We had over 90 wonderful epiphyllum lovers in attendance at or 2019 banquet, some dressed in there holiday finery, some in casual dress and all had a great time.

There were  “Door" and “Wear Your Name Tag” prizes and many other prize plus a gift exchange for those that choose to participate in it.

The Butcher Shop restaurant, has been very good to us and we thank them. This was our 11th Year celebrating our Installation & Holiday Banquet at the Butcher Shop restaurant.

Mother’s Day epiphyllum show and plant sale for 2019 was a great success.  The theme was Mardi Gras.

We had a large number of displays entered this year and overall attendance and sales keep growing each year.

It is difficult to attend this show and not come away without epiphyllum fever. The only known cure for epiphyllum fever is to expand your collection of epiphyllum plants.

End of Summer Party about thirty epi lovers enjoyed the fun, food, and fellowship in Mark and Sue Aldrich's lovely yard. It was a pleasant October afternoon and evening as we sat, relaxed, and remembered the epi highlights of 2019. This year Lauren Burnette was the organizer. We enjoyed Sue and Mark’s beautiful backyard. The party started at 4:00 p.m.

After enjoying the wonderful chicken and steak from Wood Ranch and the many delicious dishes brought by members, Paula Reynolds was announced as the winner of the 2019 Rookie Of The Year award. This award goes to someone who has been a member three years or less and who has contributed to the club in many ways. Paula well deserves this year's award: she has taken over the raffle table at the general meeting, helps out at sales (including the Mother's Day sale), and grows plants for the Mother’s Day sale.

The theme for the 2020 Mother's Day Show was also announced: next year's theme will be Golden Jubilee : ‘Celebrating Our History’

At the end of the evening everyone went home with an epi cutting to add to their collection. Many thanks to Sue and Mark for hosting and Lauren for organizing the End of Summer Epi Party.
