SDES Yearly Photography Contest information
The submission deadline for the SDES Photography Contest is always the second Wednesday in October. With the results being made know at the SDES general meeting on the second Wednesday in November.
Photo categories galleries are Single Bloom, Multi Bloom and Epi Art.
Quick look at contest guidelines:
- Contest categories are Single Bloom, Multi-Bloom and Epi Art.
- Each category has specific requirements.
- You must be a member of the San Diego Epiphyllum Society (SDES) or the Epiphyllum Society of America (ESA) to participate in the Single Bloom and Multi-Bloom categories.
- The Epi Art category is open to everyone (members and non-members).
- There are limits to the number of photographs each photographer may submit in each category.
- Entries accepted between the 2nd Wednesday in September and the 2nd Wednesday in October.
- Preferred method of submitting entries is via email to webmaster@sdepis.org or photocontest@sdepis.org.
- Photographs are judged are photograph's composition (50%), creativity (30%), and uniqueness of bloom (20%).
Judges will award 1st Place, 2nd Place, and 3rd Place and Honorable Mentions in all catigories. They will also combine the Single Bloom and Multi-Bloom categories and award a Best In Show.
Members of any recongized Epiphyllum society may vote for Peoples Choice. When it comes time to judge the photographs (no later than 16 October) a People's Choice button will be available for quick access to the contest gallery.
